"These locals tip the scales at around 30 members, culled from the lineups of other Chicago groups, but you can't blame that on the Polyphonic Sufjan mega-band trend—they're a bona fide glee club. Their sound is so wobbly, so amateur and informal, that calling them a choir would be a bit grandiose, and they plunge into the songs they've chosen—mostly punk and indie-rock standards—with a reckless enthusiasm for which glee is really the only proper synonym. They ooh and aah and bomp-bomp-baah their way through Fugazi's "Waiting Room" and the Clash's "Spanish Bombs," bringing out the songs' latent whimsy—plus you can finally understand all the words. ADDU COLLEGE GLEE CLUB 1985

Our own rendition of Richard Genée's Italian Salad (Insalata Italiana). The musical piece is a parody of an Italian opera scene, and was sung by the AdDU College Glee Club in 1985. The AdDU Glee Club's version was accentuated with intentional and occasional nasal blending to provoke the sleepy audience. The loud (and sometimes nonsynchronous) "qua quas" and "tratatas" would remind one of Yoyoy Villame's Butsikik. We thank Fr. Santiago Marasigan, SJ -Musical Director for giving an Austronesian ardor to this otherwise long and dull Austrian import.

For the first time ever, the USMA Cadet Glee Club of West Point has been filmed and recorded in the magnificent 100-year-old Cadet Chapel performing 15 specially selected songs hailing the cherished values of our great country. Stand Ye Steady: Songs of Inspiration and Courage was conceived and brought about to show support for all the men and women who have served and are now serving in our U.S. Armed Forces. We stand steadily in their support as they sustain and defend our way of life both here and abroad, and pledge a portion of the proceeds from this project to organizations assisting them. Joining the Glee Club are two special guests -- Tony Award winning Lea Salonga gives a powerfully moving performance of the Christian music classic Via Dolorosa, and Daniel Rodriguez of NYPD fame offers a rousing performance of his hit Into The Fire. Four of the songs, This Christmastide, Jerusalem, Lest We Forget, and On Great Lone Hills feature the Chapel's mammoth organ -- the largest church organ in the world!
